A hair salon designed just for children? Why?

Because some children just hate having their hair cut... it says so on mumsnet and Mata Mata is no ordinary salon. Using natural hair care products, your kids will be in safe hands, there are car shaped chairs, books to read, stickers on the ceiling, toys to play with, DVDs and iPads all on hand to keep even the most restless of munchkins chilled and the most desperate of parents stress free. From your newborn (when they get some hair of course) up to their 14 year old sibling (accompanying under duress, we know), whether it’s a haircut, creative nail painting, or a fun makeover, this is the place to go!

And as if that wasn’t enough there’s a fabulous party space out back too. TST loves the disco ball modern decor in this private studio available for hire.

Oh and in case you’re wondering the name Mata Mata doesn’t mean anything hair or business related, in fact its the name of a turtle and a place in New Zealand but the owner liked the sound of it and the fact that her 2 year could say it, this seems reasonable enough.

The face behind this fab place is Wendy Pau.
